Just thought I'd share this photo of my cat Tommy enjoying the early spring sunshine this morning. Nothing like a down blanket in a sunny spot to make a happy kitty. |

Going through my vacay pictures from my recent two weeks Up Country. Many photos were taken of my mother-in-law's totally picture-genic Maine Coon tuxedo cat, Wiglet. (He used to live with my husband and me. It turns out that he loves country living, and my mother-in-law, more than city dwelling with us. Boo!) I wish to share an especially nice one, but I am warning you. The picture is behind a link, for it is too sexay! ( NOO! You must not touch it! TOO SEXAY ) Yeah, baby. Is some gooood kitty pronos.

One day a few months ago my bartender friend J brought a pet carrier into the bar. The little fuzzball inside made me drop my pledge not to adopt another cat* right then and there. I pledged to adopt his sibling just as soon as he was weaned.
While I was waiting for my bundle of joy to be of separation age I posted to my Facebook about my good news. A friend of mine a couple of states away responded immediately "do you think he'd like a brother" to which I replied "absolutely!" A week and a day trip later and I had that another adoptee on my hands!
But that's not the best part. As luck would have it they were both... tuxies!!! Here they are, in all their cuteness:

Our little monster was rescued as a kitten from feral mom and has been living indoors with us for almost 3 years now. He is often very anxious, startles easily and can be kinda bitey.
I am considering bringing in a female kitten. Pros and Cons of this decision?
And for fun, here is a picture of him chilling with kermie.

I did some planting last week, and as soon I was done Coco came out to inspect my work. I guess I passed the inspection! |

My cat Chloe is definitely treated like royalty. Something about those eyes makes me pick her up for a cuddle every time. |

this is my daughter, and her best friend, xyla.
xyla is the most amazing cat i've ever known- and it's not just me. many people have commented on her deep rad-ness :) xyla is an spca rescue who had been returned TWICE to the shelter- we still can't sort out why b/c she's the best cat either of us have ever had. she's came to live with us a few months after my darling cat crow died, so that's about 10 years now. she likes climbing trees to heights of 3 storeys, going for walks with us as if she were a dog, catching pigeons then letting them loose [still ALIVE mind you] in the room where my husband is sleeping [while i laugh hysterically], and sitting on your lap purring deeply. a few days ago the eye specialist vet told us that zilly has a cancer of the iris. x-rays were done yesterday morning and show that her lungs are clear [YAY!] & soon we'll know if it's gotten into her liver, but she's going to have the laser eye surgery to remove the melanomas this upcoming wednesday. if that doesn't work, she may have to have her eye taken out in 2-3 months. as you can imagine, treatment is pretty expensive, but we're going to do it, even if it means eating dollarstore ravioli for lunch for a bit [luckily, i like dollarstore ravioli!]. i know everyone has their own financial crazies right now, and we're not asking for a direct handout- BUT, if you have *ever* wanted to buy a piece of my art, now would be an awesome time to do it. and if you're not familiar with my art, now's a great time to come take a look :) every day i'm posting new art, hand decorated moleskines, valentines & greeting cards, framed and unframed art, zines, my novel, doorknob hangers, EVERYTHING i find in my studio. i'm going to try and make some more valentine's cards this weekend, and i'm also happily available to do any commissions you may want done. and feel free to tell all your friends! any and all money i make will be going straight towards vet bills, and if you're worried about this being a scam, i have absolutely no issue posting scans of our bills as 'proof'.
we also heartily accept all thoughts & wishes of goodwill & healing. thanks for reading <3
this was taken earlier in the week before there was a diagnosis. she thinks she's part ferret! [yes that's me and my snazzy hair-do helping her to get into the sheets ^_^]
[this post generously allowed by the mod <3 a special thank you to mejane_83 <3]
i've made a donate button on the suggestion of lachupacabra in another comm, but i'd much prefer to be able to provide you with some goods for the exchange. still, i know my art is not to everyone's taste, and i won't turn down help of any kind. so if you are so inclined, i will gratefully accept <3 i do wish that button looked a bit more humble, but, it is what it is.
